Plot … Kang Baek Ho realizes that he is in love with his best friend, Ham Yi Seul, on the day of her wedding to another man. He travels back in time to various events of their lives hoping to change the outcome of their relationship. Will Baek Ho be able to change the course of their future?
Cast … Yoo Seung Ho is Kang Baek Ho and actress Park Eun Bin is Ham Yi Seul. Lee Hyeong Jin plays Jin Won, Ham Yi Seul’s future fiance and Kang Baek Ho’s high school basketball coach.
Majority of the cast feature grown up “child actors” or relatively new actors. While I watched the drama for Yoo Seung Ho, the supporting cast did not disappoint and did a fantastic job at portraying the characters. As a drama that follows through the young adulthood of the characters, it touches on the sensitive topics young adults now face: employment, marriage, money, dreams and sadly, reality.

Uee from After School recently revealed that her first kiss was with none other than Yoo Seung Ho while filming the Jo Sung Mo’s music video Please Take Good Care of Her. (Time passes so quickly, i still remember that song like yesterday!) So, that made me wonder how many girls this boy has actually smooched.

Okay… Now i officially sound like a pervert. You can check YSH’s extensive list of acting roles and love interests here. I personally liked him with Seo Woo in Flame of Ambition. Unfortunately, the two only got hugging scenes and faraway looks, since YSH was 17 and SW, 25. But do they look it? No!
The verdict… Operation Proposal started off with a very strong female lead who wasn’t afraid to confront her feelings and risk friendship for love. Kang Baek Ho was the cowardly, bad tempered and childish boy who needed to be slapped and pushed into place. Luckily, as the story progresses, Kang Baek Ho matures and becomes bolder for the sake of love and his future. Unfortunately, Ham Yi Seul’s character gradually becomes meeker and uncertain that their relationship could go beyond friendship.
What I found most infuriating was the countless chances given to Kang Baek Ho to alter his past. And, somehow each time he fails (which is very often), Jin Won miraculously appears and sweeps off with Yi Seul. To make matters worse, Yi Seul, instead of smiling when the love of her life confesses, frowns or shrugs it off as a joke. There are 5 more episodes yet to be filmed. I hope the writers will return Yi Seul’s backbone. If not, the drama is due to flop… BIG TIME.
Given the chance to go back in time, I would advise myself not to watch it. It brings the viewer more frustration than happiness and deprived me of a hearty weep. But what is done cannot be unwatched. Fingers crossed for the ending
EDIT: I just finished watching the last two episodes and scary thing is that Operation Proposal managed to tick all the empty boxes towards the end. Did they manage to read this post? *Shock* Yi Seul grows back her backbone, there is a nice twist (anticipated but nice) with the conductor, I cried and .. snotted .. in the last two episodes but the ending was too good to be true! If you’re in high school, watch it. If you’re not … save yourself from being a cynical biotch.
