Recently in South Korean dramas there has been an increased mention of North Korea. Somehow or rather, North Korea is always portrayed as the country where no one wants to go, running away from or declaring war with every few seconds. Recent dramas and movies of this sort include IRIS, Myung Wol the Spy, Crossing and Poongsan. And these are the only ones i can think of on the spot… think about how many lay undiscovered. Now, if America was portrayed like this then i bet there would be war in hours of its first screening.
So, what is North Korea actually like? Earlier in 2011, David Guttenfelder, chief Asia photographer for the Associated Press, along with Jean H. Lee, AP bureau chief in Seoul, were granted unprecedented access to parts of North Korea. Here are some of their photos.
