Celebrity Owned Restaurants in Seoul

A trend that has been going around Seoul for quite some time is celebrities opening up restaurants. It ensures that cash from fans is directly forked to the celebrities. So, overall a great investment and retirement plan! Unfortunately last time i was in Seoul, i did not go to any of those restaurants. They don’t have huge billboards or posters outside the shops but usually provide never before seen photos inside or a glimpse of a family member.

Bae Yong-joon – Gorilla in the Kitchen

Address: Sinsa-dong 650, Gangnam-gu, Seoul

Opening Hours: Weekdays 11:00~23:00, weekends 10:00~23:00

Tel: +82-2-3442-1688 (Korean, English, Japanese)

Getting There: Take subway Line 3 to Apgujeong Station, and go out of Exit 3. Take a taxi to Dosan Park and get out in front of the front gate of the park (should cost the basic fare). Facing the gate, go to the right and you will see the restaurant.

Nearby: Apgujeong’s Rodeo Street, the home of cutting-edge fashion, Galleria and Hyundai department stores.

The food served is very healthy and low in sodium and fat. Unfortunately, the interior has minimal BYJ fan gear and is considered a relatively high class restaurant.

Kwon Sang Woo – TEA’US

Opening Hours: 07:00~24:00 (Open all year round)

Tel: +82-2-2079-0990 (Korean, English, Japanese)

Getting There: Come out of exit# 6 of Myeongdong station (subway line 4) and walk straight, you will see Café Tea’us in the building on your right. Look for the striking white door with the strange shape.

Nearby: Myeongdong is one of the best shopping and dining spots in Seoul. It was my favorite shopping area when i visited South Korea!

This cafe/tea shop sells KSW merchandise, life sized photos printed next to the staircase and usually plays KSW related material on the television screens.

Opening Hours : 11:00~22:30

The small restaurant offers chicken and different levels of chilliness accompanied with that. Star attraction is a tree with photos of all the celebrities who have visited.

Ahn Jung-hwan & Lee Hye-won – Tovou

Yesung’s Parents – Babtol’s

This restaurant is for Super Junior fans and you can leave a note for them on the message board. Yesung’s family actually works there and are happy to take photos with you.
