Extreme Korean Celebrity Diets

Human nature’s perception of beauty is someone with a symmetric face, healthy body and good skin so our offspring (either real or imagined) will have the best genes. Somehow or rather, nowadays our perception of beautiful girls also include being skinny. South Koreans are especially hooked onto this idea.

Check out some diets famous celebrities have worshiped. Maybe it’ll help you shed those extra pounds and grab that alpha male!

Suh In Young’s “Banana” Diet

Info… Banana diet, discovered by pharmacist Sumiko Watanabe, is also known as the “glamour diet” because it enables your face to become smaller, burns your waist and belly fat while making your breasts more full. Suh In Young lost 6 kgs in 4 weeks.

Rules… For breakfast, only have fresh bananas and room temperature water. Anything can be eaten for lunch and dinner but desert and non-water drinks are frowned upon. Best thing about this diet, is that it only tells you to exercise when you feel like it.

Scientific backing… Bananas are filled with enzymes that boost digestion and metabolism that aids weight loss. They are a rich source of resistant starch, which is thought to leave you feeling satisfied and therefore less inclined to overeat at meal times as well as increasing the body’s fat-burning capacity.

Last but not least, bananas eaten in combination with water improve bowel movements.

Disadvantages… Bananas are high in sugar so may not suit those with diabetes and may result in cavities. Also, since the diet allows you to eat all you want … those without self control would probably gain weight.

Suh In Young’s Meal Plan…

Morning: 1~2 bananas, 2 cups of water
Lunch: healthy and non-greasy Korean meal
Snack: 1/2~1 banana when feeling hungry
Dinner: Korean meal mostly composed of rice and herbs

Nicole’s “Danish” Diet

Info… KARA’s Nicole claimed that she lost more than 3kg by sticking to Denmark diet. Denmark diet, which is known to be a diet plan that is used at the Royal Danish Hospital, is a very strict high-protein and low-calorie diet that lasts for 13 days. The majority of the diet plan is composed of animal protein and black coffee.

Rules… Repeat the diagram below twice (so 14 days). Meat cannot be fried and you will have to exercise.

Disadvantages… Extremely low caloric intake of approximately 600 calories per day will make you feel weak. Very unbalanced eating plan, lacking in fruits, whole grains and dairy, which can lead to kidney problems, bowel impaction and vitamin deficiencies. I hate black coffee… so I’ll probably fail. Worst is that once you stop, you have to start all over again.

Secret’s Diet Plan

Monday
Morning: 1 slice of toast, 1 apple, 1 sweet potato
Lunch: chicken breast salad
Dinner: 8 cherry tomatoes, 1 cucumber

Tuesday
Morning: 1 slice of toast, low-fat milk
Lunch: 1 sweet potato
Dinner: 8 strawberries, 5 cherry tomatoes

Wednesday
Morning: 1 slice of toast, low-fat milk
Lunch: 1 sweet potato, 5 cherry tomatoes
Dinner: 5 strawberries, 1 cucumber

Thursday
Morning: 1 slice of toast, low-fat milk
Lunch: chicken breast, 8 strawberries
Dinner: 5 cherry tomatoes, 1 cucumber

Friday
Morning: 1 slice of toast, 1 apple
Lunch: 3 eggs, 1 cucumber, 5 cherry tomatoes
Dinner: 10 strawberries, 1 cucumber

Saturday
Morning: 1 slice of toast, low-fat milk
Lunch: 1 sweet potato
Dinner: 1 tofu, 3 cherry tomatoes

Sunday
Morning: 1 slice of toast, 1 apple, low-fat milk
Lunch: 1 sweet potato
Dinner: 1 cucumber

Scientific backing… The sweet potatoes the girls eat daily are high in dietary fiber, low in calorie content, and have high amount of water. So in simple terms, it helps them poo when they’re basically not eating anything.

Cucumbers, strawberries and tomatoes are also very high in water content and quite filling compared to other foods.

Disadvantages… There is no meat or green leaf vegetables in their diet. Meat is essential for protein, which aids muscle and cell repair, and iron, key component of the bloods abillity to carry oxygen and function at optimum levels. The biggest danger would be fainting from hunger and cracking your heads open. But oh wells… who doesn’t die in the end anyway?

Park Bom’s “Corn Diet“, “Lettuce Diet“, & “Watermelon Diet“.

Info… Park Bom is always receiving attention for her multiple diets but instead of the one-food diets netizens have claimed she swore by, she actually eats a variety of foods. She snacks healthily and sometimes substitutes watermelon for rice to keep her satiated.

Rules… Bom’s a major snacker so she eats a total of five meals a day – three main meals and two snacking meals. Trainer Hwang created the two snacking meals to allow Bom to enjoy her two favorite foods – corn and nuts.

Scientific backing… Lettuce helps healthy digestion and helps prevent heart disease, stroke and cataracts. The rich greens also come with diuretic components that flush out fluids and fats for faster weight loss. Basically, its perfect with heaps of nutritional value and very low in calories.

Watermelon is high in water content obviously, so will keep you full for longer. It has no cholesterol and virtually no fat.

Disadvantages… I actually can’t spot any disadvantages. Bom is snacking healthily and i don’t see anything wrong with that. Just make sure you don’t just eat only one food… cause then you’ll be missing out on other essential nutrients and vitamins. You may think its fine now, but don’t come crying when you’re 70 and falling apart everywhere. Life is long.

Yoon Eun Hye’s Diet

Meal Plan…

Morning: rice 170 g, dried pollack bean spout soup, steamed eggs, seasoned sesame leaves, corn salad, kimchi

Lunch: rice 170 g, crab soup, sweet potato sprouts, three colored cold salad, boiled kidney beans, kimchi

Snack: 1/2 bag of puffed corn cookies, cherry tomatoes 200g

Dinner: rice 170 g, mushroom stew, roasted herring with salt, stir-fried butterbur, bean sprouts, kimchi

Snack: 10~20 strawberries

Scientific backing… Hmm another celebrity that seems to eat well and over 5 small meals. Eating five small meals throughout the day can help you control your appetite, raise your metabolism and reduce your chances of overeating. Eating more frequently reduces your risk of obesity by decreasing the blood insulin response to long fasts that increase fat storage and weight gain.

Disadvantages…  She eats alot of rice which will keep her full throughout her busy day. But i would actually recommend a little less rice and instead another dish to boost her nutrient intake. Rice is quite high in carbohydrates. However, if you love rice like i love cake, then try brown rice.

But what do i know… just look at her then look at me. I say follow her.

Changmin’s Diet (2am)

Info… Changmin used to weigh in the 100 kg range, he was able to transform over into a buff guy who weighs around 70 kg through consistent dieting over the past five years. This is for guy readers who want to be that alpha male. Females should steer clear of the diet below… i’ll take no responsibility if you turn out to be a female hulk.

Meal Plan…

Morning: multi-vitamin, 1 mid-sized sweet potato, low-fat milk, 1 full egg, 2 egg whites

Lunch: 1 chicken breast, 1 mid-sized sweet potato, salad without dressing

Snack: 4 egg whites, 1/2 sweet potato

Dinner: 1 chicken breast OR 7 egg whites (when unbearably starving, add a salad)

After workout: 1/2 apple, 15 minutes later 1 scoop of protein

Scientific backing… Changmin eats mainly during the day and like the previous two celebrities, 5 small meals daily. Eating in the morning means less fat storing during the night and don’t make me repeat the 5 meals thing. read above.

Chicken is good for muscle definition and weight loss. Rain eats heaps and Se7en owns a chicken restaurant.

Disadvantages… Changmin is missing out on red meat and essential iron. I know he’s taking vitamins, but prolonged used of vitamins and protein shakes will make your body reliant on it.

Its good to eat healthy, exercise, do everything in moderation and have your meals spaced out. Anything else is either a scam or an earlier death for you, my friend. This comes from me… and like basically every nutritionist out there. I’ve been on multiple diets but seriously, only looking out for yourself will show in the long term.

  5. i agree with everything but the last one about changmin “red meat” is the worst kind of meat and increases your risk of cancer and heart disease him avoiding it, is one of he best choices him and anyone can do for their bodies with that, he could easily get protein from beans or peanut butter as a substitute :)

  6. Danish diet seems doable. I’m also interested in secret’s diet but wish they listed the portion sizes :( what is 1 tofu, ehh? The banana diet seems crazy but that’s because I count calories and I can’t do “sensible” meals without probably going overboard :B

  11. Then you read the ingredients and see 50+ items you can’t pronounce. I suspect everyone is secrectly wishing for menus where a club sandwich could be rationalized as low-calorie by skipping the mayo.
